U18 Canada Guad Javion Tyndale wins Tournament MVP at the FIBA AmeriCup.

Canada’s U18 Men’s team claims global supremacy at the FIBA AmeriCup — defeating Team USA 67-65 to capture the country's first-ever gold medal at the tournament. Mississauga’s own Javion Tyndale led Canada with 19 points, eight assists, and 3 steals and received Tournament MVP Honours.

In a dominant fourth quarter finish, Canada outscored the USA while holding them scoreless in the final 1:27 of regulation — sealing one of the most significant wins in the program's history.

This victory represents a seismic shift in the global basketball landscape. Canada Basketball continues to establish itself as one of the world's premier talent-producing nations — and this gold medal is the latest proof.

Last summer, Tyndale made his debut appearance at the 2025 Toronto Pro-Am — playing a pivotal role alongside his Mississauga running mates Dillon Brooks of the Phoenix Suns and the Mitrou-Long brothers, Eli and Naz.
